The C.D. Howe Institute has released another in its series of Pension Papers. Seeking Certainty in Uncertain Times: A Review of Recent Government-Sponsored Studies on the Regulation of Canadian Pension Plans is authored by Brian FitzGerald, an actuary and former President of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries and Bob Baldwin, a pension specialist and former Director of Social and Economic Policy at the Canadian Labour Congress.

This Commentary summarizes and explains key recommendations in the Alberta/B.C., Ontario and Nova Scotia goverment studies of pension plans released over the last several years and suggests that a national forum of stakeholders could clear the way for action.
